Set up in 2015 as a ‘one-stop shop’ for energy and water management, SureSave’s expertise encompasses energy assessments and surveys, independent measurement and verification, utility bill validation, energy and water rebates and support with specific government schemes such as the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) and Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS).
SureSave is hoping to cement a place in Greater Manchester’s thriving low carbon and environmental goods and services (LCEGS) sector, which is valued at over £5.4 billion.
Julie Holmes, senior energy manager at SureSave, said: “We offer a comprehensive service designed to offer SMEs who may not need a full time energy manager the same services and solutions afforded by major blue chip organisations.
“We are also fully accredited to the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) as Low Carbon Consultants, Low Carbon Energy Assessors and ESOS Assessors, ensuring we bring a wealth of experience to all customers.”
To help raise its profile in the local supply chain, SureSave has joined the Business Growth Hub’s Low Carbon Network, a virtual community of Greater Manchester SMEs that provide low carbon and environmental goods and services.
The Network is now approaching 200 members, many of which have set up public company profiles on the website’s searchable online database.
Vicky Hall, low carbon sector advisor at the Business Growth Hub, said: “Greater Manchester has a fast-growing energy sector and is one of the most ambitious regions in the UK in terms of growing its low carbon economy.
“Our specialist support is tailored to help companies like SureSave raise their profile and make a positive contribution to both the economy and the environment.”
Despite its employees having considerable experience in the industry, as a new company SureSave’s main challenge is demonstrating that it can carry out work when bidding for tenders. To help overcome this barrier, Julie Holmes attended one of the Growth Hub’s Textbook Tendering Workshops.
Meanwhile, the Hub’s Access to Finance team is also helping the company to apply for a start-up loan.
“Just as we aim to be a one-stop shop for energy management, the Business Growth Hub has been a useful one-stop resource to help us grow our business”, Julie said.
“We’re happy to be part of the Hub’s growing Low Carbon Network and look forward to achieving our goals in Greater Manchester.”
