Having implemented a wide range of measures to improve its resource efficiency, such as servicing and upgrading production machinery and reducing its use of raw materials, Quantum Profile Systems is saving £147,000 a year in costs.

Resin Surfaces, a specialist manufacturer of industrial coatings and screeds for floors and walls, has pledged to reduce its use of packaging in production and is planning to save thousands of pounds as a result.

 

Newhey Carpets has identified £20,000 of annual resource efficiency savings through heating and lighting upgrades, increasing the use of recycled materials in products and reducing the amount of adhesive used in its production processes.

DJS Research's environmental improvements include adopting an environmental policy, building staff awareness and investing in new technology to reduce paper and energy consumption. These improvements have helped it win £450,000 in sales.

Worldwide LED Lighting in Tameside has established an environmental management system and achieved full ISO accreditation to help them demonstrate their commitment to quality, environmental performance and health and safety.

Manufacturer and precision engineering firm, Coleherne, has achieved a number of environmental commitments, including installing 100 solar panels on its roof and reducing energy consumption from lighting by 72 per cent.

Ribble Packaging has achieved a number of pledges, including choosing materials based on how they are made and sourced through its Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certification, which ensures that its products are made from sustainable timber.

Accountancy and business support firm, Hallidays, has achieved pledges to install solar PV and LED lighting on its site and is saving £9,000 a year as a result.
