The Carbon Trust has updated its loans scheme, increasing the maximum loan available for energy saving investments and making the loans available to more businesses.

The Carbon Trust now offer loans for equipment upgrades of between £3,000 and £500,000, and whilst in the past these were only available to SMEs, they are now available to larger companies that will not be included in the Carbon Reduction Commitment Energy Efficiency Scheme, typically those which spend less than £500,000 per year on electricity.

The Carbon Trust loans are available to businesses wishing to replace old equipment with new, more efficient equipment to reduce energy costs. The loans are interest-free and unsecured, and loan repayments are covered by estimated energy savings.
