Bury

Bury is made up of six distinctive townships. Each town retains its own individuality. Bury’s rich industrial heritage helped shape the modern Metropolitan Borough. Reclamation of worn-out industrial land has taken place leading to a green and pleasant environment.

The borough is able to offer a high-quality lifestyle across varied rural, suburban, and urban locations, with good quality housing, combined with primary and secondary schools that enjoy a good reputation and excellent levels of attainment. We want to maintain our assets for future generations and this is reflected in our ambition to reduce the impact of climate change.

Achievements

We're helping Bury businesses to drive the transition to a vibrant, sustainable and low carbon economy. Here are some of the amazing things we've helped them to achieve so far.

Bury has a lot to offer:

  • The Borough has a highly skilled workforce.
  • The shopping destination is second only to the City Centre and the Trafford Centre.
  • The borough enjoys distinct and vibrant townships, good quality housing stock and an excellent family of schools and colleges.
  • Supporting a strong local economy is a key priority for Bury Council. Integral to this priority is supporting local businesses to prosper and grow as part of the wider ambition to create more local jobs and to expand and diversify Bury's economy.
