Manchester has a pivotal role to play in tackling climate change and helping people live sustainable lives.

Manchester – A Certain Future is our city's climate change action plan and is overseen by an independent Steering Group.

The city’s business organisations and individuals have their part to play if this plan is to be successful. By contributing businesses can benefit from lower energy use, reduced waste disposal costs, as well as safeguarding jobs and attracting future sales.

Many businesses helped in the production of Manchester – A Certain Future, and the Green Growth programme is assisting businesses to make their contribution.

We're helping Manchester businesses to drive the transition to a vibrant, sustainable and low carbon economy. Here are some of the amazing things we've helped them to achieve so far.

Manchester’s businesses and economic assets make our city an engine for growth with enormous potential to create jobs and wealth. Manchester City Council wants businesses to receive the right information and support they need to prosper and grow.
A key role for Manchester City Council is to help employers find people with the skills they need. The Manchester Employer Suite has been set up to do just that – a free, professional recruitment and pre-employment service in a convenient city centre location.
